Alysia Janik

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-R

Alysia specializes in working with patients ages 16 and older to alleviate depression and anxiety, manage stress, progress through life transitions, improve self-esteem, promote quality sleep, and deal with the impact of chronic pain and illness.  She helps people work through difficult life adjustments in either brief or long-term psychotherapy.  She uses evidence based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based Interventions.  Mindfulness meditation has been shown to be effective in helping patients regulate mood, alleviate anxiety symptoms, manage stress, as well as reduce pain and its perception.  She believes  it is essential for all patients to feel safe, understood, and supported. She works to provide a comfortable, non-judgmental, and confidential environment.  She will work with you to create a treatment plan specifically tailored to your needs.

Alysia earned her Bachelor of Psychology at State University of New York at Fredonia and her Masters of Social Work at University at Buffalo and has over twenty years of experience working in this field. Prior to joining Williamsville Wellness Center, she worked in an outpatient clinic setting dealing with chemical dependency and mental health issues. She also worked as Clinic Supervisor and was responsible for direct supervision of  staff. Treatment areas of specialty include: anxiety, panic disorder, depression, OCD, chronic health issues, PTSD and ADHD.
